Slush Powder is a substance that absorbs from 800 to 1000 times its weight in water. A small quantity in the bottom of a glass will cause water poured into that glass to become a solid mass of jelly in just seconds.
A classic way to use Slush Powder is to secretly put a small amount in a Styrofoam/plastic cup, then in front of the audience pour water into it. Using a knitting needle or kitchen knife (not included) you spear the cup through the middle and turn it upside down proving the water has vanished.
