With your nativity cutter set, you will also receive an easy to follow, suitable for all the family to help with, recipe card for baking your own delicious gingerbread (trust me, we have tried them!). This recipe does not require any ingredients to be melted together in a hot pan so they can be fully made by children with a bit of adult supervision, up to the point of going into the oven. This makes it perfect for toddler groups as a Christmas activity! You can also use them as playdough/saltdough cutters and stamps too. Why not share about the very first Christmas as you cut out the shapes, decorate them with icing and bring the finished nativity scene together? All this is packaged in a slim cardboard box within an envelope (so will fit through your letterbox when delivered) and ideal for storing the cutters, plus it's easily wrapped ready to gift at Christmas!

Printed on our set of 3D printers in biodegradeable PLA. Wash before first use. Not dishwasher safe, brush out any remaining dough and clean with warm water. Due to the nature of 3D printing, not all surfaces will be perfectly smooth and slight imperfections can occur. Each finished piece is quality checked before being packed. Colour of cutters may vary from image shown.

 

Please note, no ingredients are included (!). Recipe ingredients are plain flour, soft brown sugar, golden syrup, butter, ground ginger and bicarbonate of soda, plus your choice of decorations. You will also need weighing scales, mixing bowl, wooden spoon, rolling pin, greasepoof paper and a baking tray.

There is something about an Object Lesson that just seems to work! Whether that's in the main church service as part of a children's talk, getting everyone involved and interacting, or in kids church when working with a smaller group of kids, or maybe a video for an online presentation. Having objects to go with your talk creates a focal point and makes the message so much more memorable...

 

Introducing our Jubilee Object Lessons Set, featuring a set of six objects all linked to and celebrating a different aspect of the Queen's life, her faith and witness over her 70 year reign and even... her favourite animal! This set, with scripts included, will help you involve the children as you share about the Queen and some of the things that we can learn. So how can this set be used?

 

Option 1) Dog in a Bag Presentation
- Originally designed and written with the Dog in a Bag Puppet in mind, the objects can be hidden inside the puppets bag and brought out through the performance as each prop is mentioned in the included script.

Option 2) Puppet Performance
- An adaption of the solo script but changed into a two person version. A person out front links with a puppet within the stage to tell the story (2 person script included), the puppet brings out the objects through the story to tie everything together.

Option 3) School Assembly, Children's or Family Talk (with option to order additional bags, select from buttons above)
- This set can also be used without any puppets, by simply sharing the message and the meaning behind each of the objects as you bring them out of the included drawstring bag. To enhance the message further and to make it more interactive, why not choose to order an additional six drawstring bags? Before the presentation, place an object in each of the bags and hide them around the room, as you start your presentation ask the children (or select six children when using in a school assembly) to hunt around the room to find the bags (you can hold up the original bag so they know what they are looking for), once they are all found, gather the children at the front and one by one they can open the bags and you can explore the meaning behind each item together.

Tuff Trays are a great way of encouraging tactile and creative play in your toddler groups, but they do take some time to bring together. So here is a Jubilee Celebration tray, ready to go! This set of six objects, six flags and complete with full colour A6 size picture cards are ideal to be used as part of your toddler groups Jubilee themed sessions. Why not complete the look by adding white, red and blue coloured rice for added interaction? It isn't included in our set but can easily be made at home (follow our instructions below). Use the rice to cover the tray (or you could use Union Jack Flag or simple coloured paper/shredded paper) and place the objects, cards and flags around the tray as shown. The objects help unpack why we are celebrating the jubilee and the distinct parts of the Queen’s role, faith and witness over her 70 year reign.

Some of the objects included in this set are printed on our set of 3D printers in biodegradeable PLA. Due to the nature of 3D printing, not all surfaces will be perfectly smooth and slight imperfections can occur. Each finished piece is quality checked before being packed.

 

Making Coloured Rice:
Empty the rice into a large mixing bowl. Add a generous squirt of the normal liquid poster paint and stir very well until all the grains are coloured. Place on a tray to dry and then once ready, place in a bag to store and to separate the size where it may have stuck together a little. For the picture shown above, we used 1kg of rice for each colour which made plenty for the tray.
