All the puppets in the Sockette range are fantastic, brightly coloured, individual, fun characters which the younger children (of our church/community) love to see singing or dancing along to a song…or the young people of our church enjoy using in our All-Age Services/Messy Church/Holiday Club events. We’ve renamed our Cowboy Sockette ‘Hank’ (in honour of Tom Hanks…the voice of Woody in Toy Story) and he made his first appearance at a ‘Harvest Assembly’ which we led at our local Primary School. With his Cowboy Hat, he is a bit more special/perhaps a bit more delicate then the other Sockettes…so he’s not usually given out to our younger children…but is used to instruct children in how to operate their puppet or by an older young person/adult as part of a puppet performance! Being essentially a ‘sock puppet’ this Cowboy puppet is really lightweight…which is important…as even a 2 or 3 minute song can be hard work for a young puppeteer…or in fact for an older puppeteer…which makes a Sockette a perfect choice! They are fun…engaging and easy to use…what more could you ask for…oh…a ‘low cost’…and that’s exactly what you’ve got with a Sockette puppet priced at £18.99 (at the time of my review). We usually use 3…4…or 5 of them together at a time…but they could quite easily be used on their own or as a pair. We think they’re all amazing! We couldn’t really choose our favourite…but this Cowboy certainly would be at or near the top of our list! We know you wouldn’t regret adding any of the Sockette’s to your puppet collection…so what are you waiting for!
