PUPPET ACADEMY 2019
We are looking for 8 - 12 of the best puppeteers in the United Kingdom and Europe to join the
“Puppet Academy Team 2019”
WHAT IS IT?
Puppet Academy is a special training week taking place between Saturday 10th August and Saturday 17th August, during this time you will work as part of the Academy team developing, learning and performing a puppet production of a selection of songs which will be launched and showcased at the 2019 Puppet & Creative Ministry Festival.
WHAT‘S IN IT FOR ME?
Puppet Academy is an intensive week but also an excellent opportunity to push your puppetry skills further and it’s of course great fun, with many previous team members coming back for a second or third year and the friendships made during Puppet Academy last long after the week has finished.
“Academy has been an incredible experience. It has challenged my puppetry skills in so many ways and taken me to new heights. I have built my first prop and made so many incredible friends. I have so many highlights from our week together and it has left me craving more, but perhaps after a couple of weeks to recover! I cannot wait to be able to perform what we have put together at EPMF and inspire other teams to do some pretty wacky stuff too. I know my passion for puppetry has only grown through this week thanks to all the amazing people who encouraged us and cooked for us. I have always looked up to the Academy team and it feels mad that I am now part of this big, crazy family!” Ellie Colyer, Puppet Academy Team Member 2018
WHERE IS THE ACADEMY?
VENUE TO BE CONFIRMED. Previously it has taken place at The Viking Centre, Claxby, Lincolnshire, LN8 3YR, just 30 minutes South West of our Head Office in Grimsby. Although it may be moving to a new location in Grimsby this year.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
There is a nominal cost to you of £100, this will go towards the cost of your accommodation, food for the week and the teaching you will receive. The Puppet & Creative Ministry Festival will be free to all Puppet Academy team members.
HOW DO I QUALIFY?
To apply, you will need to be over the age of sixteen (we require parental consent for those aged under 18 years) and be a competent rod-arm puppeteer.
